Thelma Rose Reynolds, 85, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday (April 27, 2016) surrounded by family and friends. Thelma Rose, a native of Clarksburg, OH, lived the majority of her life in the Kingsport area. Her life's passion was her role as a loving wife and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long-time member of Oakwood Forest Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, J. Wayne Reynolds; her parents, John and Agnes Fellenstein; her brother Howard Fellenstein and wife Gladys; and sister Beatrice Anderson.
Thelma Rose is survived by her sister Mary Jane Wright of Clarksburg, OH; son Paul Reynolds and wife Debbie of Kingsport; daughter Pat Marshall and husband Tom of Clinton, TN. She has four grandchildren: Katie Reynolds Kemph and husband Josh of Denver, CO; James Garrett Hess and Nikki Elliott of Powell, TN; Joe Reynolds of Kingsport, TN; and Beth Hess and Andrew Schaad of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Allison Rose Hess and Avery Rose Kemph; special friend, Mable Calhoun; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 2 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Larry Munsey, Minister, officiating.
