Thelma Isom Salyer, 92, of Kingsport passed away on Sunday, April 22, at Brookhaven Manor.
She was a homemaker who loved to get her family together and cook for them. She was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Morris "Pete" Salyer; mother & father, William & Elizabeth Isom; 5 sisters; and 1 brother.
She is survived by her son: Gary W. Salyer; grandson: Gary Chad Salyer & wife, Kathy Oliver Salyer; great grandson, Zackary Lamb; great granddaughter, Cassidy Salyer; sisters, Lillian Lawson and Nancy Hughes & husband, Jack; and several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jimmy Phillips officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, 207 North Boone Street, Johnson City TN 37604.
