Thelma Ruth Tipton, 75, Kingsport, passed away peacefully Sunday August 24, 2008.
She was a life-long resident of Kingsport and was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church.
Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be missed greatly by all that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ransom Tipton; and daughter, Janice Tipton.
Surviving are her daughters, Karen Lewis and husband, Jeff, and Barbara Pendleton and husband, Mike; sons, Ransom Tipton II and wife, Stephanie, and Jason Tipton, of the home; four grandchildren, Erin Lewis, Casey Lewis, Joshua Hamilton, and Ryne Tipton; sister, Stella Church and husband, James; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will be at 7:15 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Amos officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ransom Tipton II, Jason Tipton, Mike Pendleton, Joshua Hamilton, Jeff Lewis, and Ray Amos, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be James Church and Ryne Tipton.
The family would like to thank compassionate caregivers, Loretta Crawford and Rubel Gilliam for their loving care.
