Thelma Massey Welsh
Thelma Massey Welsh, Blountville, went to be with to be with her heavenly Father Tuesday, February 13, 2007.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Thelma was a member of Cassidy United Methodist Church and loved quilting, cooking, and helping other people with their needs.
Her husband, John W. Welsh, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cartwright, Bristol; two granddaughters, Melissa Miller and husband, Robbie, Kingsport, and Jennifer Branch and husband, Anthony, Blountville; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Haley Branch, Tyler Branch; one stepdaughter, Marie Herron, Church Hill; a sister, Mary Kendrick, Blountville, two brothers, Guy Massey and Bill Massey, both of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes or other times at the home of a granddaughter, Melissa Miller.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Murphy officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Gunnings Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blountville United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3390 Highway 126, Blountville, TN 37617 or Cassidy United Methodist Church, 5801 Memorial Boulevard, Kingsport, TN 37664.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wexford House and Adventa Hospice for the care given Thelma during her illness.
