Thelma Massey Welsh, Blountville, went to be with to be with her heavenly Father Tuesday, February 13, 2007.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Thelma was a member of Cassidy United Methodist Church and loved quilting, cooking, and helping other people with their needs.
Her husband, John W. Welsh, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cartwright, Bristol; two granddaughters, Melissa Miller and husband, Robbie, Kingsport, and Jennifer Branch and husband, Anthony, Blountville; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Miller, Haley Branch, Tyler Branch; one stepdaughter, Marie Herron, Church Hill; a sister, Mary Kendrick, Blountville, two brothers, Guy Massey and Bill Massey, both of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes or other times at the home of a granddaughter, Melissa Miller.
Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Murphy officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Gunnings Cemetery.
