Thelma "Granny" Willis

Thelma "Granny" Willis, 82, Telford, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County. Granny was an excellent caregiver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Willis; one daughter, Betty "Tootsie" Silvers; parents, Johnny and Irene Thornburg; and two brothers, James and Wayne Thornburg.

Granny is survived by one daughter, Kathy Davis; three sons, Billy Willis and wife, Geneva, James "Buddy" Willis, and James "Jimmy" Davis; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Fletcher and husband, Cordell; two brothers, Paul Thornburg and wife, Retha, and Freddie Thornburg and wife, Diane; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Imogene, Stephanie, Peggy, Kathy, Charlotte, Lisa, and Susie for the great care that was given to Granny.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Roach officiating.

The graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Telford, TN.

Family and friends will service as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cemetery Fund at Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 694 Oakland Rd., Telford, TN 37690.
