Thomas Tommy Gilbert Dillow, 83, of Fall Branch, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was self-employed as a carpenter. Tommy continued his lifelong passion of building and completed his last house two weeks prior to his death. He was a member of Logans Chapel United Methodist Church.
Tommy will be remembered as a gentle, soft spoken, and talented carpenter.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Scott Dillow; his parents, Carl and Hazel Hood Dillow; sister, Kathleen Dillow Freeman and husband, Ernest; foster sister, Dorothy Dillow Barron; and foster brother, Morgan Hood.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline Depew Dillow; two daughters, Cynthia Sissy Smith and husband, Earl, Sr. of Jonesborough, Kenitha Dillow and fiancé, David Baird of Fall Branch; son, Danny and wife, Patsy of Fall Branch; brother, Jimmy Dillow and wife, Janice; five grandchildren, Terry Chris Cravens and wife, Tracy, Brett Cravens and wife, Michelle, Barcy Lipoma, Clarissa Dillow Lane and husband, Steven, and Danielle Dillow Mitchell and husband, Marshall; two step-grandchildren, Kathy Smith Stora and husband, Brian, and Earl Smith, Jr. and wife, Connie; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Cravens, Alexis Lipoma, Hannah and Kirsten Lane; three step-great-grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Walker Stora and Joshua Smith; Aunt Opal Hood Leedy and Uncle Glay Hood; and several special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch and anytime at the home. Funeral services will follow with Dr. Edward Dillowe and Pastor Chris Castle officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, December 20th at 11:00 am at Logans Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
