Thomas Lee Hair

Thomas Lee Hair, 74, passed away November 21, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his family, following a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Thomas enjoyed fishing, football, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He retired from the Navy as a Senior Master Chief Petty Officer after 23 ½ years. He then went to work at Eastman and retired after 17 years. Thomas was a diehard UNC fan. He was a member of Orebank Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Ruth Poore, Nancy Hair and Judy Bell Hair, by brother, baby boy Hair, and by loving pet, Candy.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Jean C. Hair, of the home; children, Thomas Lee Hair, Jr. and wife, Terry, Rhonda Jean Cutshaw and husband, Steve, and Haley Rhnea Fields and husband, Walter, all of Kingsport; grandchildren, Amber Nichole Hair, Kayla Rhnea Fields and Daniel Aaron Ewing; two step-granddaughters, Niki Conner and Stephanie Tweed; brother, John Hair and wife, Betty of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Marie Hernandez and Delores Todd, both of Wilmington; several nieces, nephews, and special nephew, Aaron Scott Hair; and by his two pets, Annie and Pebbles.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, with Rev. David Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Hair, Mark Duncan, Robert Ratliff, Jeff Duncan, Greg Duncan and Bart Duncan. Honorary pallbearer will be Jamie Todd.
