Thomas "Lil Tommy" Ramey

Thomas " Lil Tommy" Michael Ramey, 51 of Baileyton, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Greenville Community Hospital East, with his twin boys by his side.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Phyllis Ramey and Thomas Holder; first born son; grandparents, Carrie and Tyler Ramey; uncles, James and Wayne Ramey; brother-in-law and best friend, Thomas "Big Tommy" Wynn and his stepfather, William "Bill" Roberts.

He is survived by his biological children, Corbin Ramey, Gage Ramey and Ashley Ramey, as well as the children who he loved as his loved and raised as his own, Chantal Carrico, Hunter Maltsburger, Matthew and Mark Haynes; his siblings, Chris Ramey and wife Danielle Ramey, Frances Wynn and William Ramey; uncle Garland "Moe" Ramey who was raised alongside with him and known as his lifelong best friend who he thought of as a brother; and two amazing men who always showed up, Brandon Marshall & Brian Palmer a man's best friends; and a number of aunts, cousins, grandkids, nieces, nephews, uncles and many others.

Thomas was born in Bethesda on September 17, 1972 to Phyllis Ramey & Thomas Holder. He attended North Green High School to go on in life and become a contractor for pools and a roofer, as well as a freelance mechanic in Maryland/Tennessee. His hobby was fixing up any automotive if given the opportunity. Growing up, Thomas's childhood, as well his boys, he was one of the toughest men known to mankind, but he had the biggest heart and was known to help anyone and everyone he could. Some would say the "Biggest help you could ever ask for", Thomas was known for always bringing a smile to everyone's face and laughter followed, as he was always telling jokes.

Thomas was always participating in activities, and he would say something like, "nothing can get done when you are sitting on your bum". Thomas was also known for something he would call his "Hidden Talents" that weren't so hidden, keeping people in their place when need be and speaking his mind and making sure it was known in any situation above all, that Thomas lived a meaningful life, and he made the best of it no matter the situation at hand. He loved all of his family dearly and would do anything for them. If he could tell you, his two boys were the greatest mark he left on this earth, and we should all remember that even when faced with stage four cancer, he was optimistic and saw it as life sentence. Right now, he would tell us though death has taken him away, no distance can ever separate the bonds.

Thomas Ramey taught us that even our most profound losses are survivable and that it is what we do with that loss and our ability to transform it into a positive event that is one of the greatest lessons we received.

So, in this moment of loss, sadness, grief and hurt, may we all remember that we are beyond blessed to feel this way because that means we got the opportunity to love and be loved by Thomas Michael Ramey.
