Thomas J. "T.J." Smith

Thomas J. "T.J." Smith, 80, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Church Hill Care and Rehab Center. T.J. retired from Holston Valley Community Hospital and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Beach Hill.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Paralee Sergant Smith; parents, John W. and Sarah Ellen Smith; and three brothers, Ronald Carson "R.C." Smith, David Hughie Smith and Lowell "Lincoln" Smith.

T.J. is survived by his son, Thomas Alexander Smith and wife, Janeen; two sisters, Louverna Bassanett and husband, Frank of Atlanta, GA, and Julia Euna-ve Sorah and husband, Tom of Kingsport; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12-2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bennie Spears officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Church Hill Health Care and Rehab for the care given to T.J.
