Tim Franklin

Timothy Darrell Franklin, 64, Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at his residence.  Born in Kingsport on August 26, 1956, a son of the late Mack Joe and Nancy Haynes Oliver Franklin, he had resided in this area his entire life.  He was a carpenter and of the Baptist faith. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted dad, papaw, brother and friend, who loved NASCAR racing, dirt tracking racing, UT sports and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Nancy Franklin.

Timothy is survived by his children, David and Kristin Franklin, Joey and Ashley Franklin, Timmy Franklin, Johnathon and Melanie Franklin, Roman Franklin, Riley Franklin, Rumor Franklin and Memphis Franklin; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Tommy and Sherry Franklin, Allen and Sue Franklin, Authur Franklin, Phyllis Hartsock, Johnny and Bridgett Franklin, James and Carolyn Franklin, and Steve and Christi Franklin; and a multitude of nieces and nephews and many friends throughout his lifetime.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 pm on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with his brother, Authur Franklin officiating.  Burial will follow in First Methodist Church Cemetery.

His sons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers and sister.
