Tina Barrett Linkous

Tina R. Barrett Linkous, 44, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Indian Path Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Kingsport on January 30, 1970, a daughter of George and Teresa Clark Barrett, she had resided in Dallas for 8 years, before moving back to Kingsport in 1987. She was of the Baptist faith. Tina will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter and friend who loved everyone and will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to doctors and staff of the ICU at Indian Path Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, David Linkous; paternal grandparents, Ples Barrett and Billie Barrett; and maternal grandfather, Ivan B. Clark.

Tina is survived by her husband of 25 years, Derik Linkous of the home; daughter, Kaci Linkous and son, Walker Linkous, both of the home; parents, George and Teresa Clark Barrett of Kingsport; mother-in-law, Bonnie Linkous of Kingsport; brother-in-law, Lewis Linkous and wife, Betsy of Kingsport; sister-in-law, Peggie Linkous and son, Hunter of Maryville, TN: aunt, Mary Haworth of Kingsport; special uncle, Mark Barrett of Kingsport; maternal grandmother, Kathleen Clark of Bloomington, IN; and special friends, Doddie Young, Jeannie Barrett, James Greer and Christy Stark.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12-2:00 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Phil Whittemore officiating. Burial will follow in McPheeter's Bend Cemetery in Church Hill.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be George Barrett, Walker Linkous and Kaci Linkous.
