Tom Carroll

Roy Thomas ?Tom? Carroll, 74, Kingsport, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, after a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin?s Lymphoma.

Born in Topping, Virginia, he came to Kingsport at an early age and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Tom retired from the Training Department of Eastman Chemical Company. He was a dedicated member of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church, where he was a member of the choir and also served as an elder. Tom was recently involved with the Living Waters for the World mission project of the Presbyterian Church. He was also a very active member of the Indian Springs Ruritan Club.

Surviving are his wife, Eula Kindle Carroll, Kingsport; two daughters, Vicki Manning and husband Ed, Nashville, TN, Becki Carroll and husband Pete Stene, Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren, Ann and Victoria Manning, one sister, Helen Childress and husband Harold, Kingsport; and one brother, Richard Carroll, Kingsport. Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Carroll; and his parents, Rhea and Brady Carroll.

The family will receive friends from 5p.m. to 7p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett - Dobson Funeral Home downtown. Funeral Services will follow at 7p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend Fred Niles and Reverend Dr. Ira Howard officiating. Graveside services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church, 204 Oneida Ct., Kingsport, TN 37664, designated for the Choir or for the Living Waters for the World mission project.
