If he knew of a way to help you, it was done.
Tom Pratt left this life Wednesday, November 20, 2024, for “the Big Cantina in the Sky.”
Those who knew him, which was most of East Tennessee, treasured Tom. In the off chance you couldn’t find him serving up his award-winning BBQ or famous honey glazed hams, it’s highly likely he was probably:
· Spending cherished time with his grandchildren whose love for their “Papa Tom” will never die.
· On the lake.
· At Neyland Stadium cheering on the Vols.
· Recharging his spirit playing golf and drinking margaritas in Tucson.
· Soaking up sun on a cruise ship.
A lifelong resident and supporter of Kingsport, Tom was born February 2, 1950 to Frank Thomas Pratt Sr. and Edna Lorraine Pratt (née Johnson).
Others who preceded him in departing this life were: his sister, Delores Bond; multiple much-loved aunts and uncles; and most recently, in August 2023, his beloved girlfriend Amy Mayo Lane.
Surviving Tom are: son Landon Pratt and wife Madara; son Jonathan Pratt and wife Tiffany; daughter-in-spirit Evann Pressley; grandchildren Emma Pratt, Austyn Pratt; Mia Pratt, Leo Pratt; fur babies Tito and Bailey; brother-in-law Everett Bond; nephew Andrew Bond and wife Melissa; and nieces Katharine Morgan (and husband Ward) and Jennifer Walker (and husband Kris).
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, in the Fellowship Hall at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Kingsport from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed immediately by a casual, laid-back program of remembrances shared and “Tom stories told” from those gathered.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests Tom’s memory be honored through donations to Breaththrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
