Tommy James Cloyd

Tommy James Cloyd, 79, Jonesborough, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home. Tommy enjoyed farm life and worked on a dairy farm raising calves. He grew tobacco for many years. Tommy dearly loved watching his grandchildren play sports. During his last days he was at home with his family by his side. He had one special nurse, Shannon, who he didn't want to leave his side. He will be dearly missed, but we know he is in a far better place where there will be no more pain or suffering.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Ruth Cloyd; wife, Eudeema Cloyd; sisters, Mary Hensley, Louise Miller and June Forester; and brother, L.G. Cloyd.

Tommy is survived by his daughter, Carol Music and husband, Doug of Jonesborough; son, Craig and wife, Shannon of Jonesborough; six grandchildren, Eric, Jim, and Jeremy Music, and Ashley, Dylan and Dalton Cloyd; five great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Ashton, Chelsea, Emmy, Maggie and soon to be, Evan Jaxson; and brothers, Max, Doyle and Gary.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The family service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Vic Wallace officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Baskett, Brian Hubbard, Eric Music, Wyatt Music, Jim Music, Jeremy Music, Doug Music, Dylan Cloyd and Dalton Cloyd.
