Tommy Lynn Salyer, 71, Kingsport, TN went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
He graduated from Lynn View High School in 1965 and went to work at Eastman following graduation and retired after 32 years of service. Tommy was in the U.S. Air Force serving 3.5 years. Tommy was a member of Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church for 63 years, later joining Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Tommy loved music, especially Bluegrass and Christian music. He had very strong Christian values and thus taught his children and grandchildren the importance of being a Christian.
His son, Jeffrey Lynn Salyer, mother, Eunice Salyer and father, Dallas Salyer preceded him in death.
Surviving are his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 51 years, Joyce Morgan Salyer, daughter, Kristin Carter (Franklin); grandchildren, Jordan Salyer (Elizabeth), Jonathan Salyer (Callie), and Samuel Carter and Corey Carter; two brothers, Ronnie Salyer (Sherry), David Salyer (Penny); special aunt, Annalee Salyer; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to the camping family for all their love, support, friendship, and prayers.
Calling hours will be Saturday (Nov. 3, 2018) from 11:00 am till 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Keith Bates and Rev. Todd Haley officiating.
Burial will follow the service at Morrison Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
