Tommy Roger Thompson

Tommy Roger Thompson, a man who loved his family, friends and pets, succumbed to his long-standing fight with Crohn’s on October 24, 2024.

Tommy was born in Arno, Virginia on October 6, 1947 and later served in the U. S. Air Force. Afterwards he worked at Eastman Chemical Company for over 30 years. He was married to Emma Thompson for 51 years and the two of them devoted their love to their son, Mitchell and Tabitha his wife.

Tommy was a simple man who always put his family above himself. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Vols fan. He would often attend games in his healthier days.

Emma and Mitchell would like to thank the many who stood by Tommy’s side for over 40 years, while he fought Crohn’s. Your passion and love drove Tommy to fight his illness and enjoy the simple parts of life.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park, Blountville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any local animal shelters.
