Toni Everroad went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 7, 2024. She left behind her husband of 57 ½ years, Richard Everroad; two daughters, Sonya Robinette of Kingsport and Wendy (Chris) Worley of Arlington, TN; foster daughter, Cindy (Jimmy) Orders of Gray; two brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Vandesteeg of Grapevine, TX and T.J. (Sharon) Vandesteeg of Arizona City, AZ; five grandchildren, Gabe Robinette, Abbey (Riley) Davis, Dylan Worley, Savannah Worley and Sarah Worley; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Vandesteeg; father, Ron Vandesteeg; and brother Randy Vandesteeg.
Toni stayed at home when her girls were little, but when they were old enough to be in school, she returned to school. She graduated with honors from Tri-Cities Tech (now Northeast State) with a degree in Computer Science. She then went on to complete her B.A. degree in business at Tusculum College, again with honors.
She and her husband were active members of the church and were youth group leaders at Lynn Garden Presbyterian Church and Kendricks Creek United Methodist Church. The family also attended Calvary Baptist, Colonial Heights Presbyterian, and most recently, Harvest Community Church.
Toni had several jobs including; Key Punch Operator at Cummins Engine Co. / Legal Secretary / Computer Analyst at Mason Dixon Trucking; Pet Dairy, Arcata Graphics and East Tennessee State University. She also programmed an Electronic Sign for Wells Camera Shop.
After she retired from ETSU, she had her own business, Everroad’s Consulting, for designing web pages for small businesses. She served on the Board of Directors as treasurer for the Bible Study Two program. Probably her favorite thing she did was volunteer at KCS Alternative School as a tutor for 4 years followed by volunteering as a tutor at the GED program. One of her proudest accomplishments was encouraging students to complete their program; one particular lady completed her GED, received her Jr. College degree, and went on to complete her bachelor’s degree at the University of Louisville, followed by her master’s degree. Never Give Up!
Toni loved her husband, her two girls, her foster daughter and son, her grandchildren, and many friends. She loved life and most importantly, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She shared her love for Christ through her example and witness.
She will be greatly missed.
