Tracy Childress, 47, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 14, 2018, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Kingsport and was a lifelong resident. She attended Bible Way Baptist Church. She was a very loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Tracy loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robby Godsey; nephew, Little Jerry Oaks; and her grandparents.
Tracy is survived by her husband, Duane D. Childress; two daughters, Ciara Childress and Tori O. Childress; parents, Robert Godsey and wife Retha; sisters, Cindy Johnson and husband Randy, Syonia "Pat Pat" Oaks and husband Jerry, Betty Ann Ensor and husband Robert; brother, Josh Godsey and wife Tahnee; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank the following for the great care; Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Fresenius Medical Care, NHC Rehabilitation Center, and Sullivan County EMS.
Friends may call anytime at the home of her parents at 2112 Cindy Place.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Bible Way Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Rick Vannoy and Rev. Cecil Sturgill officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 20, 2018, at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Josh Godsey, Jerry Oaks, Jacob Oaks, Joe Oaks, Austin Godsey, Tyler Winston, David Foulk, Donovan Smerdon, and Randy Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Wells, Travis Shelton, Silas Shelton, Jabin Shelton, and Jaxon Wells.
