Travis Scott Lawson

Travis S. Lawson, 35, Gray, TN, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.

Travis graduated from Daniel Boone High School and served twelve years in the U.S. Navy. He loved his family, NASCAR, animals, Tennessee, and serving his country. He was a natural leader and had no idea the positive impact he had on those that he came into contact with.

He was employed by M.S.C.

His grandparents, Hoyt and Beatrice Lawson and Kathleen Morrison preceded him in death.

Surviving are his father, Jerry "JR" Lawson, Gray, TN; mother, Connie K. Lawson, Fall Branch, TN; sister, Michelle "Shelly" Lawson, Fall Branch, TN; granddad, James C. Morrison, Fall Branch, TN; stepgrandmother, Lillian Lawson; fiancée, Amy Leonard, Gray, TN; several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

The family will receive friends Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2012 at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Posts #3/265. Honorary pallbearers will be family, friends, and former ship mates.
