Val R. "X-Ray" Lane, 67, of Kingsport, TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2011 James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
He was born November 10, 1943 in Kingsport, TN to Worley R. Lane and the late Reba Quillen Lane.
Survivors include his former wife, Janet Lane; two daughters, Cynthia Lane-Snyder of McLean, VA; Valerie Lane of Johnson City, TN; two grandchildren, Jessica Lane, Dylan Duncan; sister, Vera Neeley; aunts, Mildred Sampson, Thelma Kendrick, Wanda Webb; uncles, Johnny Quillen, Earnest Lane, Jr.; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Bobby and Nancy Howell of Jacksonville, FL.
The family will receive friends from 11-1 pm on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Posts #3/265.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City, TN 37601 or to the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, VAMC as needed, PO Box 4000 135, Mountain Home, TN 37684.
