Veneta Kibler

Veneta Kibler, 90, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully with full assurance of salvation and rest, on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at her residence.

She was born in Wheelwright, KY, on July 15, 1924, daughter of the late Harrison and Lake Vicars Wright, and had resided in this area since June of 1955. Veneta retired from Sears in 1991 following 25 years of successful service. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted Nana, sister, and friend who loved to play golf. Veneta was an especially gifted person, being very creative in painting, quilting, sculpting, knitting and other interests.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde Edward Rasnake, 1955; second husband, Wallace J. Kibler, 2005; daughter, Mary Jane Lee, 2010; son, Samuel Edward Rasnake, 2011; and two brothers.

She is survived by a son, Ronald R. Rasnake and wife, Kathy of Kingsport; daughter, Judy Weatherford and husband, Tommy of Kingsport; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, George W. Wright and wife, Fern of Richmond, VA; and sister, Helen Lane and husband, Hermin of Kingsport. Veneta was blessed with an abundance of family members and many special and close friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 10:30-11:30 am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Services will follow at 11:30 am, with Rev. David Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
