Vera Ruth Rule, formerly of Kingsport, died December 31, 2014, after an extended illness.
She was born May 13, 1922, to Clyde and Mabel Rule in Etowah, Tennessee.
Vera taught music at Lincoln Elementary School in Kingsport for 40 years. She graduated from Carson-Newman College and received her Master's degree from the Teachers College of Columbia University. After studying the Kodaly Method in Hungary, she implemented these principles in her teaching.
She traveled extensively during her school summer vacations, particularly with her cousin Bobbie Tye.
Survivors include a niece, Emily Rule Moore, Marietta, GA; and 3 great-nephews and a great-niece: Bob Cammer, Charleston, SC; Hugh Moore, Atlanta, GA; Will Cammer, Charleston, SC; and Emmie Moore, Marietta, GA.
