Virgil E. Bellamy, 87, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and had retired from Tennessee Eastman following 39 years of service. Virgil was a staff sergeant in the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a member of Ross Campground United Methodist Church. Virgil and his wife, Lyndall Chase Bellamy, were married on June 7, 1947 in First Baptist Church of Johnson City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Virgil is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lyndall Chase Bellamy of Kingsport, and son, Charles Bellamy and wife, Vickie of Knoxville.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 3 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. David Neel officiating and military graveside rites by American Legion Posts 3/265.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 6:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport with Rev. David Neel officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
