Virgil Booker, 83, of Kingsport, went to his heavenly home on Monday, January 14, 2013.
Virgil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Booker; son, Robert Booker; parents, James and Oma Booker; and four brothers.
He is survived by three daughters, Sue Mendenhall, of Kingsport, Carolyn Martin and husband, Mike, of Kingsport, Connie Robertson and husband, Bobby, of Gray; two sons, Lloyd Booker and wife Carolyn, of Kingsport and Jerry Booker and wife, Christine, of Kingsport; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Booker and wife, Ada, of Cedar Bluff; sister, Anna Ferrell, OH; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 17, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh and Brother Richard Willis officiating.
Graveside service will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Depew's Chapel.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
