Virginia Ford, 87, passed away Sunday (April 13, 2013) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Ford was a member of the Long Island Chapter of the D.A.R. and a member of Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the War of 1812. She attended Crossroads United Methodist Church where she was very active in her Sunday School and Women's group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, R. W. Ford, a brother, and sisters.
Surviving are her two daughters, Kathryn Ford, Melinda Hood and husband Robin, two grandsons, Jacob Hutchinson and wife Kim, and Benjamin Painter, all of Kingsport, TN; caregivers, Glenda Crigger, Mattie Gibson, and Miranda Johnson, who had such an impact on her life with their special care and love.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Lantz officiating.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
