Virginia Fulks

Virginia "Ginny" Redman Fulks, 95, Kingsport, TN, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at the home of her sister, Phyllis Ferguson in Blountville, Tennessee.

She was born in Norton, VA, where she resided many years, and has made her home in the Kingsport area since 1973. While living in Norton, she was employed at Dave's Department Store, and was the manager of Marshall's Department Store for several years. She was a founding member of the Kentucky Avenue Church of God in Norton, Va., where she loved worshiping the Lord and served as pianist and clerk for many years. After moving to Tennessee, she was a member of the North Kingsport Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Moscoe B. and Carrie Vincil Redman; husband, Robert H. Fulks; son, James Robert Fulks;, brothers, Claude E. Redman, Lonnie N. Redman, Vinston Redman, and James Ray Redman; and sister, Reva Redman.

Surviving are daughters, Doris Crowe and husband Ken of Lilburn, GA, Dottie Lou Stanley and husband Lester Bud of Rogersville, TN; son, Chris Lawson and wife Sandra of Kingsport, TN; special daughter-in-law, Cynthia Faye Fulks; sisters, Geraldine Sturgill of Kingsport, TN, and Phyllis Ferguson of Blountville, TN; brother, Joe Redman and wife Betty of Mount Carmel, TN; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of services at 7 p.m. Monday at the North Kingsport Church of God.

Funeral services for Virginia R. Fulks will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at the North Kingsport Church of God, 2409 N. John B. Dennis Hwy, Kingsport TN, with Pastor Scott Crowe grandson officiating.

Burial will be on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton, VA. Pallbearers will be grandsons Tracy Fulks, Robbie Fulks, David Fulks, Jason Fulks, Brian Stanley, and Morgan Rakes.

In lieu of flowers, the family desires that memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice, 200 Professional Park, Private Drive, Kingsport TN 37663, or the North Kingsport Church of God, 2409 N. John B. Dennis Hwy, Kingsport TN, 37660.
