Vivian Smith

Vivian R. Smith, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following an extended illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Smith; dad and mom, Simon and Pearl Boyd; brothers, Charles Boyd and George Boyd; twin grandsons, Gary and Grayson Allen; and two nephews, John and Michael Stout.

Surviving are her children, Freida Murray and husband Harry of the home, Johnnie Clark, Linda Monroe, Patty Cole and husband Ricky, Norma Allen and husband George, and Gary Smith and fiancée Sheila Murphy, all of Kingsport; eighteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and special great-grandson, Tyler Murray.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport or anytime at 446 Hurd Road, Kingsport.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Kelly Dykes and Rev. Clint Ramey officiating.

Burial will follow at McPheeters Bend Church Cemetery.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
