Wallace Troy Hoskins, 87, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Lee County, VA and spent most of his life in Kingsport. He is a graduate of Sullivan High School. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict in the Optical Corp. He was an optician and worked for Bausch and Lomb and later owned and operated Gateway Optical of Kingsport. He faithfully attended Tabernacle Baptist Church for 40 years. He was an avid archer for many years.
Wallace is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Latta Hoskins; two brothers, Elmo B. Hoskins and Forrest Hoskins.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lydia Gardner Hoskins; daughter: Lisa Reynolds and husband, James of Kingsport; two brothers: A.C. Hoskins and Monte L. Hoskins; several nieces and nephews; great nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to a special son-in-law, James Reynolds, for all the extra care and hard work he has done over the years.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Cecil Sturgill officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.
