Wallace Overbay

Wallace "Josh" Overbay, 80, of Kingsport, died Tuesday morning, January 10, 2012, after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Wallace enjoyed reading and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and two brothers.

Wallace is survived by three daughters, Patty Tiernan and husband, Willie of Pasadena, MD, Kathy Skiles and husband, Buddy of Abingdon, MD, and Lisa Dykes, and husband, Scotty of Kingsport; five sons, Timmy Hawk and wife, Dee of Temecula, CA, Freddy Hawk and wife, Missy of Piney Flats, Terry Overbay and Jerry Overbay, both of Kingsport, and Randy Overbay of Maryland; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, George Ovebay and wife, Willa Dean of Kingsport; ex-wife, Peggy Hicks of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.

Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10:00 am at VA Mountain Home National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road #102, Johnson City, TN 37601-2060.
