Wallace "Bug" Roberts, Jr., 85, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation-- Hillside, where he had been a resident.
Born December 6, 1921, he was the son of the late Wallace David Roberts and Roxie Lite Roberts.
Mr. Roberts enjoyed bluegrass music; spending time with his grandchildren, and working in his garden. He had made his home with his son, Gene and wife, Sandy and later with a granddaughter before entering SunBridge.
His wife of 54 years, Roxie Monroe Roberts; son, Robert; and several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Surviving are three sons, Martin Eugene Roberts, Kingsport, William Jessee Nunley, Bulls Gap, and William "Papa Bear" Roberts, Kingsport; one daughter, Judy Ann Richards, Surgoinsville; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Burner, Maryland and Shirley Vaughn, Rogersville; one brother, Jack H. Roberts, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home with William "Papa Bear" Roberts officiating.
Burial will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
