Walter "Bud" L. Brooks, Jr., 75, of Fairborn, OH, passed away Wednesday June 8, 2011 after a courageous battle with ALS. He was a wonderful husband, father, and brother, who was a hard worker and enjoyed gardening. Walter retired from General Motors in 1998. He was a member of the Fairborn St. Luke United Methodist Church and had a strong belief in his faith until the end.
Walter is preceded in death by his wife, Nola Brooks; son, David Brooks; parents, Walter, Sr. and Fannie Brooks; and brother, William Brooks.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Campbell and husband Don of Lewis Center, OH; sister, Christina Holbrook of Baxter, KY; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Emeritus at Fox Run and Acclaim Hospice for their exceptional care of Walter.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, TN. Funeral services will follow in the chapel with Rev. Dr. John H. Wilson officiating.
Graveside services will follow the funeral at Oak Hill Memorial Park. The family will be serving as pallbearers.
