Walter Ray Hicks, 64, Bloomingdale area of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2007.
He worked for Kingsport Press/Quebecor and retired from Bonham Printing in Johnson City.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Herman Wesley Hicks and Virginia Belle Hutchins Hicks; a sister, Frances Ruth Hicks Rock; his grandparents, Walter K. Hicks, Lucy Ketron Hicks, and Hugh and Annie Hutchins.
Surviving are one brother, Wesley Hicks and wife, Elizabeth, Kingsport; a brother-in-law, Bill Rock, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. David Morgan and Rev. Vern Hall officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Larkins Family Cemetery in Church Hill, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Herman Kinsler, Danny Rock, Billy Rock, Kenny Hicks, David Laney, Tim Morrison, David Morrison, and Johnny Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Sammy Hicks, Mike Ragsdale, and Lee Meade.
Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to First Freewill Baptist Church of Morrison City, 211 W. Carters Valley Road, Kingsport, TN 37665.
