Wanda L. Jones

Wanda L. Jones, 79, died on Thursday, August 1, 2019.  She was born on October 29, 1939 in Grundy, VA and had resided in Kingsport for most of her life. Wanda married Elmer L. Jones on December 30, 1971.  She worked at Holston Valley Medical Center after high school and in 1967 started working for the phone company. She was a devoted Baptist and attended several churches.  Wanda was currently a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Paul Castle, and sister, Marie Vaughn.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Elmer L. Jones; daughter, Donna Leigh Jones; grandchildren, Nicholas P. Castle, Amber M. Castle, Leslie Dunnican and Stacey Wilmont; great-grandchildren, Dylan Meeks and Alana Dunnican; daughter-in-law, Lesa Poff Castle; 1st cousins, Betty Loomey, Roscoe Matney and Donald R. Davis; special 2nd cousin, Leslie Horne; several other cousins; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Loretta Richardson and Barbara Allen.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 pm on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Salley officiating.  Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery.
