Wanda Lockiel Morelock

Wanda Lockiel Morelock, 82, joined her Heavenly Father and a host of family and friends on October 27, 2012, at her home.

She was a life long member of Mt. Carmel FWB Church, since her baptism in 1947, where she faithfully sang in the choir and supported the work of the church. She moved from Baltimore, MD, back to Tennessee to care for her ailing mother and subsequently was the loving caregiver for her sisters, Delores, Frances, Trula and brother, Garfield.

Ms. Morelock was preceded in death by her father, Flora Morelock; mother, Mertie Mae Morelock; sisters, Leora Morelock, Frances Overbey, Delores Dykes, Lynne Smith, Trula Mullenix; brothers, Tramel and Garfield Morelock; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Morelock; brothers-in-law, James Martin and Orlen Mullenix.

She is survived by her sister, Lucille Martin; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Morelock; brothers-in-law, Hansel Dykes and James Overbey; several nieces and nephews; and was a special mommy to Robin Holley.

The family wishes to thank special family and neighbors, Hansel Dykes, Charles Mullenix, and Judy Bise for diligently looking after her.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Josh Holley, Tyler Lynch, James Bise, Carlos Bise, Rick Mullenix, Marcus Mullenix, Stuart Thompson and Perry Dykes. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Mt. Carmel FWB Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 29 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Fall Branch Chapel or at her home beginning at noon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel FWB Church, with the Pastor Wyndell Sydebothom and Rev. Brandon Holley officiating. The body will be taken to the church thirty minutes prior to service. Mt. Carmel FWB Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel FWB Cemetery.
