Wayne Buckles

Billy Wayne Buckles, 72, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital following a brief illness following heart surgery.

He was born in Scott County, VA, and had resided in Kingsport most of his life. Wayne was a member of Homeland Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of Buckles Construction Company. He was a fan of motor sports and had raced late model stock cars at Kingsport Speedway. Wayne was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Roxie Buckles; and two brothers, Ray and Don Buckles.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Deborah Yates Buckles, Kingsport; daughter, Gwen Buckles and husband, Kevin Leonard, Charlotte, NC; son, Greg Buckles and wife, Nicole, Kingsport; and two step-grandchildren, Hunter Milhorn and Chase Leonard.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at Hamlett-Dobson Chapel, Kingsport with Pastor J. W. Depew officiating.

The graveside service will follow at Hermon United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be Greg Buckles, Kevin Leonard, Chase Leonard, Maynard Ketron, Rick Yates, and Terry Thacker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Edgar Hawkins, Frank Carr, and Bill Powers.
