Wayne Edward Strickland

Wayne E. Strickland, 76, 5850 Glenwood Drive, Green Sea, SC, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at Welllmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Wayne was born in Horry County, SC, and had resided in Kingsport for the past 2½ years. He was a self-employed auto mechanic.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Zeb and Essie Edna Grainger Strickland; a son, Timothy Strickland; two brothers Avis and Rea; and an infant sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Pettengill, of Kingsport, and Deborah S. Skipper, of Dillon, SC; a son, Randy Strickland, Myrtle Beach, SC; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, J. D. Strickland, Pelion, SC.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Tabor City, NC.
