Weldon D. Duncan, 88, Kingsport, TN, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Kingsport June 11, 1925 to the late Oscar C. Duncan, Sr., and Pearl Dillow Duncan. Weldon was a Navy veteran. He and his wife Jo were very active in square dancing.
His wife, Jo Johnson Duncan, sister-in-law, Yolanda Gollehon and brother-in-law, Everett Gollehon; siblings, Agnes Greene, Oscar C. Duncan Jr., Ruth D. McMackin, Warren G. Duncan, Cavin "Pepsi" Duncan, Herbert "Lollie" Duncan, and Clara D. Stacey preceded him in death.
Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 1-2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Ron Davis officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
A special thanks to Terenda Kennedy, Earl Kennedy, Libby Marcus, Richard Marcus, B.J. Martin and Eula Riddle. Credit is to these people who made Weldon's life more peaceful and allowed him to enjoy his life to the end. Libby was responsible for his total care and loved him dearly. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Kingsport.
