Wendell W. Craft, 67, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Kingsport, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009.
Mr. Craft was a school teacher and coach. He had earned a B.S. degree, a Masters degree, and a doctoral degree. He served 1 ½ terms in Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart, a Navy commendation, V for Valor, Silver Star, and an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for Vietnam Operations.
Wendell was preceded in death by a brother, Herschel Craft.
He is survived by brothers Cecil C. Craft, Kingsport; Edsel E. Craft, Memphis; Crandall Craft, Kingsport; Lowell Craft, Sneedville; and several nieces and nephews.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Posts #3/265 on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
