Wesley Dykes, 84, of Kingsport, died Saturday, July 22, 2007.
Wesley was born in Hawkins County, to the late Thomas and Ora Arnold Dykes, but had resided in Kingsport since 1945. He was the owner and operator of Dy Tran Service Stations in the Kingsport area. Wesley was the former owner of East End Restaurant and Motel in Rogersville. He was a deacon at Solomon?s Temple Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary S. Dykes; a son, Wesley Edward Dykes; two brothers, and two sisters.
He is survived by a son, Randall Randy Thomas Dykes, and wife, Leah, of Raleigh, NC; three sisters, Ollie Hall and Bernie Love, both of Kingsport, and Ruby McCoy, Church Hill; one brother, Floyd Fagan, Hendersonville, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted at 8:00, with Rev, John W. Crawford and Dr. Tim Perry officiating.
Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Gardens on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
