Wilburn "Jiggs" Osborne, 85, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord at 10:45 pm Monday, March 16, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jiggs was born in Norton, VA, and had resided in Kingsport for most of his life. He was an employee of Penn Dixie Cement Plant until retirement. He was a member of Parker Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Jiggs was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of Scottish Rite and Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Vinson Osborne, 1997; two sisters, Mary Hickman and Edith Nelms; and two brothers, Monroe Osborne and Glen "Bud" Osborne.
Jiggs is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Patricia McGee and husband, Sam, Kingsport, Mrs. Deborah Bowen and husband, Johnny, Church Hill, and Mrs. Sharon Berntsen and husband, Ketil, Blountville; one very special granddaughter, Misty Weaver; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and one special "little man", Caden Fields.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Rob Clemons and Amedisys Hospice and his church family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 8 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport and at anytime at the home. The service will follow at 8 pm with Rev. Mark Ball and Larry Hommell officiating.
The graveside service will be held at 11 am on Friday at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
