Willa Dean Hayes, 68, of Limestone, received complete healing from cancer on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, when she went home to be with the Lord. Willa Dean was a loving, hardworking mother, grandmother, and friend who dedicated her life to putting the needs of others first. She was involved in various activities with the Ladies? Group of Union Temple United Methodist Church, with her specialty ? making gravy for the church?s breakfasts.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles ?Buster? Hayes, and her father, Eugene Wedding.
Survivors include her sons, David Hayes and wife, Tammy, Afton, TN, and Duane Hayes and wife, Lisa, Limestone, TN; four grandbabies, Kenny Hayes and wife, Megan, Ashley Hayes, Shea Hayes, and Matthew Hayes; her mother, Azlee Wedding; sisters, Ruth Brown, Sandra Bright and husband, Paul, Becky Buchanan, Jeannie Gosch and husband, Sonny; brothers, J. C. Wedding and wife, Kay, Freddy Wedding and wife, Bobbie, Roger Lynn Wedding and wife, Sharon; special uncle, Paul ?Pappy? Jones; several nieces and nephews; special friend who she considered a grandson, Kary Gentry; and many special friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Fall Branch Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes. Services will be conducted on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Union Temple United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard Bowers and Rev. Ronnie Baxter officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery, with Parish Bright, Darryll Wedding, Scotty Wedding, Nathan Harmon, Richard Morrison, Mark Jones, and Jason Jackson serving as pallbearers, Honorary pallbearers are Joe Byrd, Trampus Bright, David Jessie, Kenny Hartman, and the men of Union Temple Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Temple United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to the family, friends, and nurses who cared for Willa Dean during her illness.
