Willadean Light Bernard, 72, of Sullivan County died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born February 8, 1939 in Sullivan County and had lived in this area all of her life. Willadean was a member of Solomon's Temple Baptist Church and loved tending to her garden, quilting and cooking.
Her life was centered around her family and she will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Barrett Light and Homer Ransom Light.
Willadean is survived by her husband, James D. Bernard; three sons, Donald J. Bernard, Dale R. Bernard and wife, Ronda, Dana D. Bernard and wife, Rita; brother, Homer Light, Jr.; two sisters, Irene Shelton and Judy Mullenix; seven grandchildren, Denver Bernard, Lacey Bernard, Dustin Bernard, Destinee Bernard, Dillon Bernard, D.J. Bernard and Dalaynee Bernard.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Fall Branch. Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Dale Gilbert officiating. Music will be provided by Alan Mahaffey.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Light Cemetery in Blairs Gap Community with Rev. Teddy Webb officiating.
