William Lon "Bill" Barrett Jr

William Lon "Bill" Barrett, Jr., 93, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 5, 2015. He was a charter and active member of Mayfair United Methodist Church, serving as a delegate to the Holston United Methodist Conference, a board member of Buffalo Mountain United Methodist Camp, Charge Lay Leader, and President of the UMC Men's Club to name a few. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army chemical warfare service during World War II, serving in Europe, the Philippines, and Japan. He was a member of the American Legion Post #3 of Tennessee for over 50 years. Bill retired from Tennessee Eastman Kodak, Research Division, after 43 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lon and Mary Barrett; and sisters, Pauline Barrett, Ruby Dawn Reed, Blanche Smith, and Gussie Catron.

Bill is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marshall Dean "Lucky" Barrett; daughters, Connie Smith and husband, Larry of Kingsport, and Marsha McFall and husband, John of Gainesville, Georgia; son, William Lon "Bill" Barrett, III of Johnson City; two granddaughters, Tonia Smith Parlier and husband, Darrell of Greeneville, and Katelyn McFall of Carrollton, GA; grandson, Connor McFall of Athens, GA; great-granddaughter, Constance Parlier; and great-grandson, Joseph Parlier, both of Greeneville, TN.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the East Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The memorial service will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Mafair United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
