William "Bill" Adron Kidd

William "Bill" Adron Kidd, 79, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his family. Bill was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and attended Summerville Baptist Church. He retired from A&L/Brock after 43 years of service. Bill loved farming tomatoes and was very generous about sharing his bounty.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Slaughter and John Perry Kidd; sister, Margaret Kidd Patterson; and brother, Kenneth Kidd.

Bill is survived by his sweetheart and best friend, Wanda Burkhart; daughters, Gale Pierson and husband, Steven, Karen Ruskey and husband, Tim, and April Shaffer and husband, Chad; grandchildren, Benjamin Altizer, William "Jacob" Couch, Danielle Shaffer, William Ruskey and Aaron Shaffer; great-grandchildren, Nichole Altizer and Keagan Couch; and many special nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center CICU and step-down unit, and Avalon Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-7:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Ron Bradshaw officiating.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Gunnings Cemetery.

His wisdom, unconditional love and uplifting personality will be missed by many and his family looks forward to seeing him again in heaven.
