William "Bill" Delno Ledbetter

William "Bill" Delno Ledbetter, Jonesborough, TN, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and fought in Italy and France, receiving a Purple Heart. A native of Sullivan Gardens, TN, he made his home in Fall Branch, TN for 28 years, and lived in Jonesborough, TN, for the past 37 years. Bill was a member of First Baptist Church of Fall Branch, TN, and attended Bowmantown Baptist Church. He worked at Kingsport Press for 42 years, retiring in 1988 to farm.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Sizemore Ledbetter; son, Timothy Earl Ledbetter; parents, E.V. and Lurley McCulley Ledbetter; sisters, Lucy Ledbetter and Jean Sheldon; and brother, George Ledbetter.
Bill is survived by his son, Tom and wife Martha; grandson, Jon; granddaughter, Angie and husband Joe Engle; sister, Mae Cox; brothers, Kenneth and Wayne Ledbetter; and several nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Shawn Cutshall and Pastor Vic Wallace officiating.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Fall Branch with military honors by American Legion Posts 3/265.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Kathie Depew, 130 Dogwood Dr., Fall Branch, or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
