William "Bill" S. Kirkhuff, 96, Kingsport, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016. He was born October 14, 1919 in Cherry Valley, PA, the son of the late Eugene and Bertha Kirkhuff and lived in Monroe Co, PA for 87 years before moving to Kingsport. Bill served in the Marine Corp during World War II and retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Pocono 780 and a member of V.F.W. #509 of Tobyhanna, PA. Bill was a former member of Tobyhanna United Methodist Church and a member of Ketron United Methodist Church. He enjoyed riding around in the country and making frequent stops at the Waffle House. Bill was a NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhart Sr., and Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Kirkhuff, and sisters, Dorothy Kruse and Marion Keller.
Bill is survived by his wife of 75 years, Geraldine M. Kirkhuff; two daughters, Sandra L. Wilson and husband, Norman, Sr. of Kingsport, and Tami K. Kirkhuff and partner, Peggy Thompson of Harding, PA; sister, Betty Schlupp and husband, George of Palmyra, PA; three grandchildren, Norman Wilson, Jr., Scott E. Wilson and wife, Davina, and Brad E. Wilson and wife, Kimberly; five great-grandchildren, Cassandra and partner, Caitie, Chelsea and husband, Brandon, Camille, Cyerah and Liam; and two great-great-grandchildren, Mason and Ebin.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
