William Davidson "Will" Bowery, beloved son of Bobby and Amanda Mandy Bowery left his parents' arms to be with Jesus Sunday, September 7, 2008, at his home. He was 5 years old.
William was born February 3, 2003, and touched many lives in his short five years. He truly was an example of "God's will." He attended Eastern Star Freewill Baptist Church with his family. When he was well enough to attend school, he attended Sullivan Elementary's Cuddlebug Preschool Class. Will enjoyed music and spending time with his family and was always happiest when sitting on Daddy's lap.
He will be sadly missed, but we know he is in Heaven; and God is watching over him just like He always has. This is only a temporary separation.
Will was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Beecher Bowery; and great-grandparents, Carl Hale, J. W. Grills, Ralph Carberry, Eula and Joseph Ashby, and Vernue and Perry Bowery.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his big sister, Savannah; paternal grandmother, Janie Bowery; maternal grandparents, David and Margie Hale; great-grandmothers, Thelma Hale, Mary Lou Grills, and Lola Mae Carberry; uncles, Russell Bowery and wife Lisa, and Jeremy Hale; an aunt, Penny Bowery; special great-aunt, Helen Ashby; his favorite cousin, Kylie Bowery; and special friend, Ashley George.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Nicole Miller and Sherry, the staff of JCMC pediatrics, and Holston Valley Peds Unit, and Wellmont Hospice for the outstanding care provided.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport, or any time at the home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Larry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Laney, Joseph Laney, Jason Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Kylie Bowery, and Ashley George.
