William Charles "Bill" Cochran

William Charles "Bill" Cochran, 65, of Fall Branch, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center after an extensive illness. He was born to the late Clyde "China" and Elsie Smith Cochran and lived most of his life in Washington County.

Bill was passionate about his life's work. He was a farmer and livestock dealer. He sold buggy horses, mules, and dairy cattle to the Amish in multiple states for over 43 years. He and his wife owned The Amish Furniture Shop in Gray. Bill was well known for saying, "If I died today I would have made my living doing what I loved." He never met a stranger and was always quick to strike up a conversation. He attended Bethany Freewill Baptist Church.

During his early years he was an avid coon hunter. He had many horse and mule sales and put on a few rodeos. During his daughter's high school years he was active with her FFA Dairy judging team which went on to win several awards.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Cochran Miligan and Joan Cochran Brown.

Bill is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Judy Cochran of the home; his only child, Kimberly (Cochran) Hart of Piney Flats; and granddaughter, Annalese "Annie" Hart of Piney Flats; sister, Joyce Cochran Hayes, Mulvane, KS, brother in law, Leroy Brown, Jonesborough; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm -7:00 p.m. on Saturday (May 21st, 2016) at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Free and Rev. Sidney Barkley officiating.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday (May 22nd, 2016) at Logan's Chapel Methodist Church. Those who plan to attend the graveside may join the family in procession from the funeral home at 1:15pm.

Pallbearers will be Rick Good, Mike Collins, Steve Forrester, Craig Stevens, Terry Stevens, Tommy Stevens and Danny Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be the numerous friends of the family and livestock traders he has come in contact with over the years.
