William Ron Cochran, 69, of Mount Carmel, went to be with the Lord and his son on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 after a battle with cancer.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Cochran; his parents, Marshall Howard Cochran and Helen Cochran; two brothers, Junior Cochran and Roger Lee Cochran; and a sister, Lois Massey.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Pharaba Cochran, Mount Carmel; two daughters, Debra Cochran, Mount Carmel and Treasa Goode and husband Jeff, Limestone; three sons, James Cochran, Tony Cochran, and Jim Bob Reed, all of Mount Carmel; six grandchildren, Christopher Cochran, Heather Palmer, Christopher and Zachary Goode, Hope Detamore, and Kayla Reed; three sisters, Rita Mansfield and husband Jim of West Virginia, Freda Swearinger and husband Jack of Pennsylvania, and Irene Runyon of Ohio; and brother, Donald Cochran and wife Gladys of Florida.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Dr. Daryl Crouch officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by Charles DeWitt Byrd Post #3382 of the VFW.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Good, Jeffery Crawford, Shannon Houseright, and Johnny Stair.
