William F. Davis

William F. Davis, 87, formerly of Clearwater, Florida, went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his home in Wise, Virginia.

He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during World War II and was employed at Tennessee Eastman Company for over 30 years. William was a Mason in the Gray, Tennessee Chapter for over 50 years and a member of Skycrest United Methodist Church in Clearwater, Florida.

He enjoyed golfing, square dancing, basketball, landscaping, gardening, tending to his roses - and especially loved to travel.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jean Pierce Davis; his parents, David and Maude Davis; two brothers, Glen and Donald Davis; and one sister, Manilla Dilly Davis.

Surviving are one sister, Martha Dotson of Wise, Virginia; special sisters-in-law, June Davis and Faye Davis, both of Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Home Nursing Care and Dr. Nida for all their special care, and all of his caregivers who made William's last days very special.

Receiving of friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. A Masonic service by Sinking Creek Masonic Lodge #575 of Gray will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Fred Ball officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews and other family members and friends.
